UPDATE: BRAVO TROOP HAS RECEIVED YOUR ASSISTANCE!
8/07/2010 -- PFC Miguel Garcia, contact person for care packages sent to his unit Bravo Troop, has been injured in a roadside blast along with two of his fellow Soldiers. Thankfully, their injuries are non-life threatening but they have been transported back to the United States for medical care. As a result, the address listed below is no longer valid and no further care packages should be sent to this address.
6/12/2010 -- MNN has received the following message in response to the request for assistance listed below on this page. PFC Miguel Garcia has sent a short message to a relative indicating his platoon just received at least 20 boxes in response to this Support-a-Unit request. MNN wants to thank everyone who sent a package and supported the troops.
START OF MESSAGE -- HI TO EVERY ONE . I JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT FOR A WHILE I DID NOT HEAR FROM MIGUEL. TODAY JUNE 12, 2010 I GOT A ONE LINE MESSAGE .THE PLATOON JUST GOT AT LEAST 20 BOXES AS A RESPONSE TO SUPPORT THE TROOPS. HE DID NOT MENTION ANY NAMES BUT HE WILL SEND THANK YOU NOTES. IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME , AS YOU KNOW THINGS ARE BAD IN AFGHANISTAN AND THEY HAVE NO TIME EVEN TO SLEEP. ALSO THEY HAVE A CASUALTY IN HIS PLATOON THIS PAST WEEK. THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH. -- END OF MESSAGE

US Army, 2nd Platoon, Bravo Troop, 1-33 Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne (AA).

LOCATION: Paktia, Afghanistan.

ABOUT: This unit is at Forward Operating Base Wilderness. The name says it all, as the base is described as being in the middle of nowhere. The unit has about 20 members who are in need of the following supplies.

REQUESTED ITEMS: Any hygiene products (soap, shampoo, hand sanitizer, razors, shaving cream, MOIST TOWELETTES). Eye drops, ChapStick, Neosporin, Hydrocortisone, foot powder, INSECT REPELLANT, Q-Tips, vitamins, cough drops, Tums, AA batteries, SOCKS, UNDERWEAR, notebooks, PENS, and especially LAUNDRY DETERGENT.
